The Portland United Against Hate Coalition, in collaboration with Boise Neighborhood Association are offering a free training between on Monday January 8th, 2020, from 6-8 pm on “Hate, Housing, and the Landscape of our City” This workshop lasts 2 hours. Participants willunderstand and acknowledge our shared history; embrace our common values as neighbors and gain knowledge about our rights and responsibilities in housing.

From racial exclusion laws in Oregon’s constitution and racially exclusionary housing practices such as redlining and restrictive deed covenants, to continuing involuntary economic displacement from neighborhoods, we must learn and acknowledge the history of racial discrimination, segregation and displacement to understand the different experiences ofand disparate outcomes for our most vulnerable community members. Our history consciously intended todivide us by race and class. We must find our way forward to more open and inclusive communities in away that unites us. Offered by the Fair Housing Council of Oregon.
